As Chinese people often say, “The beginning is the most difficult part.” I feel so overwhelming and intimidating to start off and at the same time being very grateful to the founder of this website, Rodrigo P.Campos for his trust in me, without his tireless persuasion, I wouldn’t even have the chance to write my thoughts down on papers.
I am Vanessa, born in June 1993, on a paradise island that I’m sure many of you have heard of, called Mauritius. Since I was born, my parents taught my little brother, who is now 21 years old and I the importance of education, they inculcated upon us the good habits, responsibilities, customs and the values of life. Now, I graduated from Nanjing Normal University and am currently pursuing further studies in the metropolitan city, Shanghai. The purpose of this website is to gather people from all walks of life, regardless of the age and sex, to better understand Chinese diaspora and to furthermore connect all the Chinese descendants of the world. Being a Chinese descendant, I wish to share with you all details of my life, as well as my family roots.
