Expone un bosquejo histórico del Cementerio General de los Chinos ubicado en La Habana, Cuba, en el que se encuentran enterrados los miembros de asociaciones políticas, regionalistas y patronímicas, cuyos nombres son dados a conocer por la autora: Chang Wen Chung Tong, Wong Kong Ja Tong, Yiu Men Con Sol, entre otros. Describe su valor como monumento histórico nacional de Cuba y su estado de conservación e iniciativas de mantenimiento y restauración por parte de la comunidad china. Aborda la historia de las inhumaciones, exhumaciones y repatriaciones realizadas desde 1893 hasta 2017.

En el año 2018 se hallaron tres entierros de inmigrantes chinos de fines del siglo XIX y comienzos del siglo XX en el distrito limeño de Carabayllo, durante los trabajos de monitoreo arqueológico de la empresa Cálidda. En esta nota se presenta la reconstrucción de estos contextos funerarios, así como las osteobiografías de cada uno de estos individuos, a fin de acercarnos a cómo fue la vida, muerte y ritual mortuorio de estas personas.

El libro explora los rituales funerarios, el sincretismo religioso y las expresiones materiales presentes en las lápidas y mausoleos del cementerio chino de Huaral. Presenta un extenso anexo fotográfico con más de cien imágenes que documentan la iconografía, materiales y ornamentación de las tumbas. Entre sus principales aportes destacan la visibilización del patrimonio funerario chino y la lectura de sus símbolos híbridos —como inscripciones bilingües y elementos católicos y chinos— que reflejan los procesos de integración cultural y social de la diáspora china en el Perú. Metodológicamente, el autor utiliza como documentos históricos fuentes no convencionales como epitafios e iconografía funeraria, que demuestran el valor del enfoque interdisciplinario para comprender la relación entre prácticas funerarias, dinámicas socioeconómicas e identidad cultural. El resultado es un estudio que entrelaza la historia social de la inmigración con la preservación del patrimonio cultural y la construcción de identidades en el Perú.
